EFFECT OF ACID CONTAINING BEVERAGES (COLAS)
This study reminds us of the potentiaL for enamel damage caused by acid-containing drinks and foods. When enamel softening is combined with an abrasive action, as from a toothbrush, a significant amount of tooth structure can be remaved in a relatively short period of time. The process of microabrasion to remove opaque white or-other spots of enamel, after all, uses acid demineralization with abrasion. The process is similar when acid containing drinks are in the mouth for a significant amount of time and abrasive action accompanies or follows the ingestion of acid. In comparison with enamel loss from this process, dentin, which is softer by nature, is removed even more rapidiy when exposed to the softening effects of acid, then to the abrasion of the brush. Since the enamel in the cervical areas of teeth is very thin compared to other parts af the tooth crown, it is penetrated first, exposing dentin in that area. This is probably a more frequent etiology for non-carious lesions than abfraction. As dentists, we should counsel our patients who ingest acid-containg soft drinks, such as colas, on the potential for tooth damage.

HOW TO STOP SNORING
You can stop snoring if you follow some simple rules: Lose excess weight. Don't drink alcohol or take tranquilizers within four hours before bedtime - these drugs cause the soft tissues in the back of the throat to sag. Don't smoke: it causes throat tissues to swell. Sleep on your side - this aIlows your tongue and tissues to be where they belong. Keep your neck straight: A bent neck narrows the airway. Prop yourself up at a 45 degree angle. See your doctor or dentist if the above tips are of no help. There is a dental device, worn at night, that repositions the lower jaw and tongue. Surgery, which removes throat tissue should be the last resort to stop your snoring.
